One from Dad's slide stash. This was shot as we returned to the city aboard the SS Rafaello. I tried to tweak the colors just a little to bring out the sky, to limited effect.
Found your blog through the Barbara Sher bulletin board. Very interesting collection of photographs! I like the one of Lyndon Johnson. My father got to meet him when he was President! I also remember taking daytrips to New York and seeing the twin towers being built.
What would you say is the underlying theme behind all these photos? Do they have something in common that made you want to post them here?
I think my original idea behind the site was to post photos that made me laugh, or at least smile. I'm a photo researcher and the pictures I've always enjoyed are the older photos that have the whiff of oddness to them.
Then I kind of went off on a tangent and posted a few of my old shots from college, then a few scans of my Dad's old vacation slides.
So I guess there's no real underlying theme here, just a random batch of stuff that caught my eye.
